WELCOME TO THE GIRLY SHOW. (NSFW)

Anybody up for some light, afternoon bondage?! Gosh, I fell in lust the moment I laid eyes on this chicly sleazy W spread shot by Mert & Marcus, where one of my Italian favorites Mariacarla Boscono smolders (along with others) in rope and retro attire. I adore everything from the styling, to the makeup, to the poses, and right down to the concept, which reminds me slightly of the red-curtained cabin in Twin Peaks. You ladies sure know how to put on one hell of a show...

YOU SHOULD BE WATCHING: DIRTY OLD TOWN.

What happens when you take a crazy, indebted antique-shop owner, pair him up with an old school Mott street gangster and delinquent junkie mother, then pit him against a combination of Latino drug dealers and an Irish alcoholic cop? Just another day in New York City I suppose, though the majority of us only see the calm surface where it all looks so normal and picturesque.

MARCH 2012 INS & OUTS: HATS, NEON CRAZE, & THE LWD.

OUT: NEON OVERLOAD / IN: POPS OF FLUORESCENCE

Last time I checked, Miss Minaj traded in her 'signature' neon hair & electric mini-dresses for a slightly more Vatican look - but the fluo trend remains in all forms, both on pop stars and the latest runways. Alas, it's just one of those things like animal print or sequins that simply looks better in small doses, and pulling it off requires some basic knowledge of outfit balance. It's pretty much a universal rule of fashion that if you've got one really busy item of clothing on, the rest should be muted to not clash with your focus piece. Simple enough, no?

Personally, I'm obsessed with neons in accessory form. Scarves, clutches, shoes, jewelry, lingerie, even lipstick or eyeliners if done right - but then cast against a really basic, casual outfit. Back in Paris a few months ago I almost flipped for these bright green & orange Givenchy fold-over clutches and I'm still regretting my responsible decision to step away from the purchase. However had I been around a Louis Vuitton when that pink joint on the right was released, you can bet your ass I would've put myself in the negative for it. Hot pink embossed monogram? Can't walk away from pieces like that...

THE LOVE PROJECT, EPISODE 1: STARRING ROBERTA HAZE.

About a week ago I came across this old but amazing video series called The Love Project by Tao Ruspoli, namely episode 1 starring ex-dancer-turned-costume-designer, Roberta Haze. Wow, what a fucking lady! I seriously pray that I'll be this dope and badass when I'm 73, her pinstripe/nameplate combination is beyond amazing. But above all that, hearing her speak through this 10-minute short truly touched something inside me, I was glued to the screen with anticipation of what wise, witty thing she might say next. Her views on sex and relationships are certainly different, but it's realistic and romantic in a way I can resonate with. And she's a Brooklyn girl like me! Thanks for showing us how it's done Roberta...

VERUCA'S WORLD: MARCH DESIRES.

Working freelance means a lot of waiting on checks from different people, so although it's a cozy gig, there's definitely periods when I'm desperately running to the mailbox anytime I hear the post lady pass by. But then when the checks do come in, they all tend to come at once, hence a momentary feeling of false financial security. Sure, I immediately pay my bills (at least half way) and all that other adult priority stuff, but then for about a solid week until I'm broke again, all I think about is shopping. Don't let that cunt Carrie Bradshaw fool you - there's no way in hell a weekly sex column can allow for such designer splurging. But if you save little by little and get hit with juicy checks here and there, why not buy yourself something fantastic every once in a while?

My current fashion obsession is the Céline mini luggage bag - I think about it before I go to sleep and right when I wake up, basically. I actually had a day-dream the other day that I'd sold all my earthly possessions and home to have it, but that it didn't even matter because it was large enough to fit both Coco and myself. So since I'm in a current state of retail infatuation, I figured this would be a good time to channel my energy into making a MARCH DESIRES list - chock full of all the things I'm craving this month, like lots of bright colors, pastels, and killer heels. Oh, and the Céline of course; definitely going on a field trip to the new flagship store next week to scope out my future baby.

STEVEN MEISEL FOR VOGUE ITALIA MARCH - OVER THA TOP!

I've been anticipating this Ghetto Fab Vogue Italia shoot for a few weeks now, ever since pictures of the spread started leaking onto the fashion blogs. I mean, does it get any better than high fashion models with 4-inch watermelon tips and Twix rappers in their hair? Plus I'm pretty sure they shot this at Kellogg's Diner Brooklyn, always a sure bet for a gaudy American meal! I'll post the full editorial when it drops, but in the meantime these GIFS. should give you a tacky taste. Lindsey, I like this look for you boo.

V MAGAZINE SPORTS ISSUE - WORK IT OUT!

Ugh, I nearly lost it when I came across this sporty spread from V Magazine's latest athletic-inspired issue, I just love fashion photography like this. A killer bronzed body cast against bright backdrops, all doused in oil and covered with huge designer sport labels? Can't go wrong in my book...

WINTER NAPS.

Ever since my tie-dye Diane Von Furstenberg duvet arrived in the mail about a week ago, I absolutely hate getting out of bed in the morning. It retails for over $250 but somehow I managed to snag a Queen for only $80 - can't let those types of deals slip you by! As imagined though, it was completely worth it. This thing is so soft, pretty, and perfectly heavy that it's like being wrapped in a DVF summer dream, vicariously living through Diane's Greek vacations and St. Tropez boat trips. If I didn't have so many deadlines due this week, I might just hop back in the sack for another brief snooze. Alas, that doesn't seem likely right now, so let's peep some soothing nap-time pictures instead. Next step: get my curtain game right. I'm thinking thick white canvas...
