CHINESE STUDENTS RIP-OFF VS IN SCHOOL FASHION SHOW.
Some students from China's Chengdu University of Technology are coming under fire this week, after photos of their extremely-familiar-looking lingerie designs spread all over the internet. Upon first gaze the runway show seemed pretty impressive, but once you squint and bring your head in a little closer, you'll realize they're just meager attempts at biting already-seen Victoria's Secret creations. Certainly not original, but I gotta give em' points for trying so blatantly!

VOGUE KOREA'S INJURED GIRLS PARTY.
God, I just love this Vogue Girl Korea spread, Injured Girls Party. I mean, not to stereotype here, but this shit is so awesomely/gruesomely Asian that it might as well be filed under Kegadoru, a term for popular Japanese "injured doll" fetishes. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, see for yourself here and here. Submission, innocence, vulnerability - all the popular turn-ons are there. And although the Vogue spread is much more sophisticated & high-end, the undertones are certainly apparent nonetheless. J'adore!

DAZED & CONFUSED: LUXURIOUS LAZINESS.
Remember that infamously bitchy Linda Evangelista quote where she said something along the lines of "we don't get out of bed for less than ten thousand dollars a day", talking about her & her supermodel friends? Some might call that incredibly arrogant and haughty, but then again that's some total boss shit right there. Imagine? Shit, there's days were I get out of bed for not a goddamned cent. Linda, show em how it's done!
Now I'm not sure who's narrating this interesting little video for Dazed & Confused (shot by Sean & Seng and starring the Barbie-esque Frida Aasen) but it totally brought me back to that type of era, or even a Marilyn Monroe type era, where glamorous women were just that and urged to never lift a pretty finger, unless of course to sip champagne or pick up a coke straw. Love the part about taking leisurely baths and wearing leisurely clothing. Luxurious laziness is my shit...

FOOD FOR THOUGHT: GRIOTTES.
Man, I wish I had the patience to be like one of these magical food bloggers/photographers (Luxirare especially) that spend their whole days shopping for the most beautiful groceries money can buy, then turning them into visual & culinary masterpieces. My latest foodie obsession is French site Griottes, an incredibly adorable blog focused around gorgeous photos of whimsical food creations. Pantone tarts, mushroom meringues, and crane-shaped candies? Yes please!

THE COVETEUR UPDATES: CHANEL, CHARLOTTE, CLAIRE, & THE CLARINS.

It's an absolutely beautiful in NYC today - perfect type of weather for opening all the windows and letting that cross breeze air out the whole house. Little by little I'm getting the place ready for spring, and for me the three essentials of creating that luxurious atmosphere are crisp, clean bedding, fresh flowers (I'm loving pastel tulips right now), and a lusciously-scented designer candle. For Coveteur gals though, those essentials are generally overshadowed by their other decor items, like Birkin bags and Basquiat paintings. Time for a little mental vacation - let's see how the other side lives!

MISS DILLZ CHERIE: WALK ON BY.
When you live in a really busy city like NYC, it's amazing how much sexual tension can be felt between strangers just by way of commuting or walking past one another in the street. I mean, I can't speak for other people, but then again the Missed Connections forums are still booming so it's pretty self-evident. It's kinda hot though, just seeing a face in some crowd that you connect with and not being able to shake the memory of it for weeks, sometimes even months & more. So with that inspiration in mind, todays Miss Dillz Cherie is all about passing glances and alluring backsides - enjoy the view.

OLD MASTER PAINTING COLLAGES BY BALINT ZSAKO.

As most of you already know, I like to do a lot of collaging in my spare time. I guess that sounds really dorky but it's just one of those things like knitting or peeling split ends that relaxes the hell out of me. For the most part though, I just arrange a bunch of different images together to look like a giant puzzle, but I totally appreciate those who collage to create entirely new scenarios out of existing photos, much like Balint Zsako. This master painting series especially caught me eye, I just love the juxtaposition of old classics and crassness layered together!
