I suppose that I can be pretty jaded in some aspects of my life, but the reality of things is that I'm an extremely emotional person, and it doesn't take much to get a rise out of me. For some reason TV brings it out of me especially, I get fired/choked up over the slightest thing, from a wild twist in a 48 HOURS case to an extra heart-wrenching Extreme Home Makeover, and even the small drama's in-between. The show that brings me the most anxiety, however? Besides those OCD specials, LOCKED UP ABROAD without a doubt. Man, that shit has you gripping the edge of your sofa to the point where your fingertips start to ache! Plus it seems like most of the heads that get caught up in those messes are just petty small-time criminals that get too gassed off how easy shit seems, making their descent to reality feel that much more relatable.

While browsing feeds earlier, I came across a series of photographs by Valerio Bispuri who spent the last 10 years in South America documenting lives of male & female prisoners, and these definitely aren't reenactments. Pretty raw, yet beautifully chaotic at the same time. I guess that's what hell looks like...

If you live in NYC like myself, then you too have recently felt the effects of getting bitch slapped by summer - hard. I mean, I was already prepared to hate this shit back in winter when I was more focused on hating the cold, but I'm absolutely overwhelmed by the heat thus far, and it's not even that bad yet! There are ways to keep cool of course, but every now & then it's unavoidable when I'm trekking to work in the sweltering garment district, tourists and schlepper's melting all around me. Ugh, the though of a wet, sweaty back alone is enough to make me cringe!

The Dillz and I drove up for memorial day up to my Mom's Catskills crib, and since there's a stream out back which leads to a big river, we were lucky enough to get our swim on for a bit. Pretty cold, but extremely fun & refreshing after a stoney backwoods hike. Anyway, now the sun finally died down and we're on a supposed Tornado watch, so hopefully the temperature drops a bit. Either way my hair is fucked. Let's cool off!
