They've made us wait long enough, but finally HBO is once again reminding me why I shell out the extra cash every month to benefit from their better-than-TV goodness; cuz believe me, it definitely ain't for their bullshit selection of On-Demand movies every month! 3 weeks ago it was the season 4 of my beloved True Blood, and then last night they added the much-anticipated season 8 of Curb Your Enthusiasm to the Sunday line-up, making my life feel complete once again. It should be no secret to any of you at this point, but I'd definitely consider myself a grade-A shit-talker, it sorta comes with the territory growing up in NY. If your forte isn't to be fast or strong, then you'd better have your mouth on your side, and I think that's how I ended up with such a sharp tongue. Sure, I've done a lot of taming in the last few years as I've transitioned from teenager to adult, but the roots are still intact deep down within. It's just a shitty look to always be running your mouth or hating on people, and eventually it WILL come around to smack you in the mouth or jump your ass in a dark alley way when nobody is looking. All of that said, there are some bitches that I can't help but clown on, even if it makes me question my morality or feel slightly bad about judging - bitches like the those shown/humiliated here, a link which my homegirl put me onto last week...

I'm not sure what it is lately, but I've been waking up mega stressed, overcome with a feeling of urgency that I have a really hard time shaking. It even effects my sleep in general - I toss & turn, continuously waking up to eye the time, like I have some sort of life-changing test to take later that morning. Just last night it was the same routine, and even though I fell asleep rather quickly, it was only about an hour before I started opening my eyes again, gradually until 4:20 am where I moved to the couch in attempt to find peace there. Alas, it only made my view of the clock that much more apparent, and so here I am, cranky from another shitty night of sleep and totally bummed on this constant stress I've been dealing with lately. Not looking forward to this Friday - which is a rarity - due to all the annoying bullshit I've got on my plate today, but I did want to take the time to check out a few relaxing visuals and get my mind some much-needed aesthetic relief. I'd love to be at a spa, or posted up in front of a gorgeous vanity straightening my hair, or unloading a suitcase full of incredible heels, or even just indulging in a croissant upon a velvet lounge chair...yeah, that'd be the life!

For this weeks Veruca's World, I'm keeping with the French theme that we ran with for our last Fafinette round-up, but this time I'm going down South to my all-time favorite summer destination: St. Tropez! How can I even explain the place without getting lost in an overwhelming cloud of vibrant French wonder?! The small alleys crowded with tiny luxury boutiques, the tourists and sun-soaked blondes that roam about in nothing but pink thongs & matching heels, the ridiculous cars that millionairs park in front of their yachts on the port, the melon ice-creams & nutella crepes, the kaleidoscopic Pucci prints, the laughter of seasoned old men drinking Pastis at the Place des Lices...I could go on for hours. It definitely makes up some of my fondest childhood memories, so without further ado, let's get Tropezienne!

While most chicks can pride themselves on losing a bunch of weight in time for 'bikini season', I don't even feel ashamed admitting that I've only gained and I don't give a shit. I mean, that's not totally true, I obviously care a little, but after having such a tumultuous relationship with food in the last decade I refuse to beat myself up over a summer of indulgence. I just need to get back into one of those good GTL funks where I make it a routine to hit the gym and keep my shit right - but who really wants to do any of that when it's 95 out with 80% humidity?! For now let's just watch the MISS DILLZ CHERIE's stretch it out for us instead - work, bitches!

I may have recently lost my desire to cook elaborate meals every night - a job that's been taken over by the Dillz, which I'm not mad at - but I'm still the boss when it comes to baked goods, especially since I usually create them to fit my tastes specifically. For this fourth of July I knew that I wanted to go along the apple pie route, just with some slightly elevated textures & flavors. After a bit of recipe searching online, I came across the ideal one to tweak & add my touches to, and the end result was unanimous: "best piece of apple pie I've ever eaten". It's super fast & easy to whip together so I suggest attempting it ASAP - just make sure you have vanilla ice cream and milk in your fridge first...
