Pretty much since the start of this blog 6 years ago, I've always been an avid and vocal fan of YouTube sensation Chris Crocker, and how could you not be? That kid was so beautifully and creatively deranged that I seriously imagined a world of amazing opportunities would open up for him as he got older, especially once the 'Leave Britney Alone' video blew up. Alas, in the last year or so it seems as though Chris ditched his infamous blonde wigs, makeup, and feminine mannerisms for a more macho look, the perfect transformation for his entrance into the world of porn. Tomorrow is Lourdes birthday, so I'm dedicating this following video to her. I came across it yesterday super randomly and immediately thought 'wow, I wish Lourdes was here to watch this with me'. Here Comes the Neighborhood is a new docuseries that just came out in the last month or so, following around all types of local and international street, graffiti, and mural artists as they use their talents and vision to breathe new life into urban communities. They're starting off with the filming of the Wynwood Walls project in Miami, which was once just a series of industrial lots and factory facades, now transformed into an aesthetic paradise by artists ranging from OS Gemeos to Shepard Fairey.

In this 5th segment, we get an up-close look at the incredible mural collaboration between Mexican artists Saner and Sego, both of whom I now have major art crushes on. Set to a dope track by Emile Haynie, they dissect the meaning of their works while explaining their inspirations and the balance of beauty/violence in their native Mexico City. I especially love Saner's comparison to Wynwood as a 'heaven' for the artists, that maybe such beautifully eclectic worlds merging is what awaits us all after we die, "finding more things than we have lived in this life". A pretty nice thought if you ask me. Not to mention, these dudes can fucking paint. Those thread-like dotted lines he does to fill in his characters? Kinda of bananas, and that goes for the bug bristles too...

 Nothing like a fresh dose of AM inspiration.
