S95 ADVENTURES: PARISIAN WRAP-UP.

Ugh, I'm a little bummed to be back in NY, I can't even front. Something about life in Paris just seems so much more clean and pure and aesthetically pleasing. Even amongst all the decadence I found myself losing a bit of weight and feeling detoxed, eating only fabulous food in the proper constraints of mealtime. That's seriously how French girls stay thinner, no snacking! Oh yeah, and the weed isn't nearly as strong so I suppose it's a lot easier for them. Regardless, it's not just the serene living I miss - it's the glistening rooftops and storefronts, the pastry displays reminiscent of Marie-Antoinettes birthday parties, the boot-clad girls clinging to their dreamy boyfriends on the back of scooters with one hand and chain smoking out of the other. It's so fucking romantic and indulgent and beautiful! Not to say that New York doesn't have an untouchable charm all it's own, but they're just two completely different worlds. Until next time Paris, I'll be missing you!

S95 ADVENTURES: PARIS, DAY 6.

Man, I can believe it's already our last full day in Paris - so bummed! This whole trip has been like a little fantasy that I'd honestly just rather stay and live in. But I'm still totally overjoyed at the thought that by this time tomorrow, I'll be heading back to my babies and my Brooklyn with the Parisian tune-up I so needed before. Last night was my Dads show, definitely the most epic night of our trip thus far. There was an after-party at the ultra branché Le Baron, a super dark and cozy club all lit up in red, and I won't get into too many details...but at one point the Gallery owner said "I want you to meet Azzedine Alaïa" followed by a long series of introductory kisses - if I didn't have Amazing Mel as my witness, I wouldn't even believe it myself. Sigh, how I'll miss this back home! Time for some flicks:

S95 ADVENTURES: PARIS, DAYS 1-5.

So it's our 5th day in Paris - and as much as I miss my boo, Coco, friends, and city - I could really get used to living the good life out here. The owners of the gallery where my Dad is having his show have been absolutely incredible, just super nice people who truly know how to take care of their guests. We're basically sleeping across from the Presidents house - no biggie. The days have been non-stop, either spent working at the gallery or walking around the neighborhoods, from the political zones down to the hooker-rampant streets of Saint-Denis. It's enough to make me want to puke with overwhelming joy! Here's a bit of what's been going on in the last several days...

PARIS, J'ARRIVE!
Well I'm off to Paris tonight, absolutely can't wait for a fat dose of Frenchness and some much-needed inspiration! My Dad is having a show out there next week and I'm coming along to help out...along with shopping, eating, and randomly stopping to cry in the street at the overwhelming beauty that is Paris. I'll still get regular posts up, along with lots of picture posts which I hope to upload daily. In the meantime, here's a little imagery to get my inner Française bubbling...

SHIT WHITE GIRLS SAY...TO BLACK GIRLS.
Just when I thought the whole 'Shit People Say' thing was about done, the hilarious chescaleigh on Youtube goes and posts my new favorite - Shit White Girls Say...To Black Girls. Apparently it caused quite the stir from offended caucasians in the comments section, but come on bitches...the shit is funny as fuck, how can you even hate? Like she states at the end, her clip isn't meant to represent all white people, just the obliviously ignorant few that say dumb shit because they don't care/know any better. She's got the voice and mannerisms down pat!
"Hey, do you know a Tyrone Jenkins?" It's called comedy people, laugh at yourselves and live a little bit!

THE CURIOUSLY ALLURING WORKS OF JAMES JEAN.
![]()
When it comes to art, I don't really have a "type", it's just all about the way I feel when I look at something. Like just because something is all Warhol'd out, doesn't mean I'll like it. I like some Warhols, because of color or subject, but I'm simply not drawn to art genres as a whole, if that makes any sense. Then when I came across the work of James Jean, some little trigger went off in my head. Not only do I really appreciate his range of style - always looking at the same shit can get quite boring - but I'm especially in love with his use of color. Those blues and grays are haunting! The one of the yellow-eyed face kinda reminds me of Aurel Schmidt, though regardless he's definitely got something special and unique going on, like a kind of hypnotism where I feel drawn to examine the work over & over...

VERUCA'S WORLD: WHAT I DIDN'T GET FOR XMAS.

Ugh, I think I have a Holiday hangover. Or what some might call 'seasonal depression', the yearly plague that comes upon us all during wintertime. After so many consecutive days spent cooped up on the couch ordering food and smoking weed, I still feel way too retarded to venture out into the real world. Frankly, I'd rather just day-dream about all the wild shit I mentally asked Santa for instead. No sign of Chanel lady bag purse or Louboutin lion heels yet, but maybe next year...

YOU AIN'T EATING IT RIGHT.
Now before I make any further statements about this video, let's get one thing straight - I'd never in my life want this particular dude to eat me out - nice lips or not, he look slightly psychotic and something about the sound of his voice really freaks me out. That said, I couldn't help but laugh and give my man some props. We need more real ass PSA's like this for the young/hip ladies & gentleman of this world. And while a lot of dudes might hate on this guy, you should seriously listen to what he's saying, it's all truth. "If you doin it and you get thirsty, you ain't eating it right" - Amen.
